Risk Management is the practice of identifying, assessing and treating risks so as to better achieve desired outcomes, enabling the delivery of quality sport programming.
The Risk Management Project is a multi-year initiative designed to help enhance the effectiveness of decision-making among sport leaders using a consistent, sport-specific, and integrated risk management process. Adapted from the Australian/New Zealand risk management model and refined for the Canadian sport landscape, a two-day Risk Management Workshop has been developed, piloted and refined by sport leaders.
Since 2007, over 60 sport organizations have completed the workshop. In addition, numerous information sessions have been offered to help organizations effectively manage issues that stand in the way of providing a quality sport experience.
The CCES wishes to thank Sport Canada and the Department of Canadian Heritage for their financial support of this project.
