Overview of Position
The Sport Services Coordinator contributes to the operations of the CCES by coordinating doping control testing sessions and contributing to the overall development, maintenance, and improvement of the Canadian Anti-Doping Program (CADP). The role also involves major games services, fee-for-service testing, and providing anti-doping information services.
Duties and Responsibilities
Coordination of Doping Control Testing
- Coordinate domestic doping control program testing within specified sports.
- Coordinate fee-for-service testing.
- Assist with athlete inquiries and whereabouts requirements.
- Troubleshoot with DCOs and National Sport Organizations (NSOs).
- Complete DCO certification and act as DCO/Chaperone.
- Assist with verification of DCO and Chaperone expenses.
Testing Program Development
- Administer Registered Testing Pool (RTP) and National Athlete Pool (NAP) submissions.
- Implement and monitor test distribution plans.
- Conduct quarterly test planning.
- Maintain tracking systems for RTP submissions.
- Coordinate Pre-Games testing for major events.
CADP Adoption Responsibilities
- Assist NSOs in meeting their responsibilities under the CADP.
- Respond to NSO inquiries.
- Identify athletes for inclusion in the RTP and NAP.
- Assist with semi-annual NSO meetings.
Quality Management System
- Understand and comply with Quality Management System responsibilities.
- Recommend process improvements.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks.
DCO/Chaperone Program
- Assist with recruitment and training of DCOs and Chaperones.
- Help with DCO Manual reviews.
- Provide performance feedback to DCOs and Chaperones.
Client Information Services
- Respond to general doping control inquiries.
- Prepare and deliver presentations.
- Update Anti-Doping Program resources.
General Responsibilities
- Other duties as assigned by the management.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Bachelor's degree in sport, health, social science, or business.
- Over 1 year of experience in a related field.
- Knowledge of Canadian sport community and anti-doping programs preferred.
- Project coordination skills with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- French proficiency strongly preferred.
